A slightly more convenient way of adding an install image to the Grub boot-loader is by using “grubby”:

$ /sbin/grubby –add-kernel=/boot/f15/vmlinuz –initrd=/boot/f15/initrd.img –args=”ip=10.1.0.18 netmask=255.0.0.0 gateway=10.0.0.253 dns=10.0.0.253 ksdevice=eth0 method=http://ftp.crc.dk/fedora/linux/releases/test/15-Beta/Fedora/i386/os/ lang=en_US keymap=us vnc vncpassword=foobar headless” –title=”Fedora 15 Headless VNC-install”

This example is for installing the beta of Fedora 15 on a i386 system.

Thanks for writing this up! However, for the ‘method’ in the kernel parameters, I think the protocol must be specified:

Change: method=//mirror.leaseweb.com/centos/5.4/os/x86_64/
To: method=http://mirror.leaseweb.com/centos/5.4/os/x86_64/
