Problems in the datacenter

A core switch fried itself yesterday evening at our colocation in Amsterdam, and as luck would have it, the backup switch didn’t work. Engineers apparently worked on this all night, but it still took a very angry phone call to them before our routing information was properly updated.
I’ve got a horrible feeling they didn’t test the backup core switch regularly and didn’t have any backup of the routing information – but that’s just my thoughts. We’re looking into an alternative colocation.
